Since a few weeks the Amsterdamsestraatweg is the proud owner of a brand new hotspot: Loaded. After a crowdfunding campaign and a major rebuilding of the property this place is a real eye-catcher on the street. From Asian to American: their menu serves all sorts of high quality (festival) food. Like!

Costs: €10 – €15 for a main dish. Location: Amsterdamsestraatweg 52

After taking a quick look at the menu we both had the same thought: all the dishes look so nice! That’s why we decided to let the owner surprise us with the tastiest dishes of the menu. We started with the leader of the menu: A Vietnamese Mo-Pho dish. This is a delicious sandwich made of grilled pork belly and multiple vegetables. The special thing about this sandwich is that you have to dip the sandwich in pho (bullion). We really liked it! Secondly, we were surprised with the salmon and avocado sandwich. The salmon was marinated and cooked in red beet juice, which gave the salmon an striking red colour and a very soft but nice flavour! Last but not least we got the chance to taste the Kim-Chief Burger! This is a burger prepared by the Beef Chief and made with homemade kimchi and cheese. Definitely one of the juiciest and most delicious burger we ever tried.

Overall we’ve tasted a lot of delicious dishes (fun detail: they were all served in steam baskets)! We really like the idea behind Loaded that you can easily share all of their dishes, so you can taste all the best of the menu. They kept the interior relatively simple which gives the whole place kind of a chill vibe. At one side of the restaurant they have two bar tables which are perfect when you want to eat with a bigger group of people.

Pro’s

  • It is also possible to have breakfast and lunch at Loaded
  • For the fries lover: they have all sorts of loaded fries
  • Good prices for every budget

Con’s

  • They don’t have an outside terrace (yet)
