Normally we don’t really go into our personal lives on When in Utrecht. But my experience with UKYIO coaching is definitely worth sharing! As I am working fulltime, running a blog and owning a company (with my lovely partner in crime Laura) it is not unlikely to feel a little stressed from time to time. I have to admit: it never felt that hard on me to be honest. I just (how cliché) went with the flow. But then something happened in my personal life and out of a sudden I struggled keeping everything in balance: lucky me that the ladies of UKIYO found me in time.
UKIYO coaching is founded by Rolien and Sanne. Two (twenty/thirty?) years who are passionate about helping people further in life. After working together for a while these lovely ladies decided to start their own coaching based on a Japanese philosophy. Their coaching is based on 5 different fundaments: quality of life, mental well-being, giving meaning, physical movement and self-participation. Rolien and Sanne believe that does are the ingredients for a better well-being and as I already experienced I can only agree!
I had my ‘intake’ session at the Moestuin. The first thing that I noticed is the energy that both Rolien and Sanne have. Positivity everywhere! While enjoying a delicious cup of coffee they listened carefully to my story. I already noticed that they started asking me questions that I actually had never really thought about. It was interesting to see how the conversation formed and how openly I could express myself to them. You don’t always ‘click’ with everybody, but I felt a natural connection with Rolien and Sanne instantly. After doing my story they told me everything about UKIYO coaching. What I especially appreciate is their active way of coaching. No traditional space with a couch and chair: walking coaching is their way to go!
So now my coaching traject starts. I feel very excited to explore myself (sounds weird, but you know what I mean) a little more during my session with both Rolien and Sanne. Will keep you posted about how I am doing!
Love, Maaike
