When you work for a platform like Temper, you’ll see other restaurants then the ones you would typically go for. Like Werkspoor Café de Leckere! A perfect place to grab a beer, have lunch, dinner or enjoy your Friday afternoon drinks.

De Leckere beer and cheese platter
In Utrecht beer from de Leckere is well known. The beers are named after areas or hotspots in Utrecht like white beer Witte Vrouwen or harvest beer Sonnenborgh. Awesome! Even better; pair your beer with a cheese- and meat platter. The dry sausages are a regular one and one with bellpepper. But what is even more interesting is the cheese. One of them is made with de Leckere’s own Paulus beer! Served with a beer mayonaise and pickles and you’ll be happy as a clam.

Well worth a bike ride
Why I have never been here you’ll ask? Because it is a bit outside of the city centre. Not a problem at all, but you won’t stumble upon it while walking in the city. De Leckere is well worth a bike ride tho. There is a large outside terrace and is nice and quite. There is room upstairs and downstairs and they have friendly staff. Added bonus; on the menu I spotted a barbecue option.. interesting!

Pros

  • More then you can drink (we think)
  • Nice big terrace, good for a sunny autumn day and perfect in spring and summer
  • Unique dishes like the cheese platter with beer cheese and cheese fondue with Paulus beer

Cons

  • It is quite a bike (or train) ride
  • It can be hard to find, if you don’t know where to go!
