Latte, cappuccino, flat white or a cortado, we just love coffee. On Instagram, Maaike regularly shares her coffee favorites, so we made a list of the best places to go to, to drink this liquid gold. These coffee shops are favorite by Sam Lasaroms (Koffietje), Saskia Koopmansschap (100koffietentjes in Utrecht) and us:

Maaike (When in Utrecht): ONZ

Where?: Biltstraat 98, 3572 BH Utrecht

Located on the Bilstraat, ONZ has a cozy interior. A large painting decorates the wall, wooden panels are lined up behind the coffee bar and the comfy chairs are perfect for a day’s work. Getting hungry from all the hard work? The restaurant offers lunch and dinner (on Thursday and Friday) as well.

Saskia Koopmanschap (100 koffietentjes in Utrecht): Black Brew

Where?: Willemstraat 55, 3511 RH Utrecht

Opened just a couple of months ago and already Saskia her favorite: Black Brew on the Willemstraat. In the middle of Wijk C, you’ll find this cute little shop with a great atmosphere, lovely music and owners that are welcoming. The coffee is served in great cups (original) and the cafe has among other siphon brewed coffee. With your drink, you can order lunch, breakfast or something sweet.

Sám Lasaroms (Koffietje): Ohøj Coffee Roasting

Where?: Rijnlaan 27, 3522 BB Utrecht

Looking for a fancy and Instagrammable coffee hotspot? Latte with whipped cream, lots of sprinkles and syrup? Then Ohøj Coffee Roasting might not be the place for you! But it is, in my opinion, the best coffee bar in Utrecht. Why? Because it’s all about good, quality coffee. Nothing more, nothing less.

Kevin Ayers (the owner) moved to Utrecht from the US, after working at Coutume Café in Paris. He opened Ohøj Coffee Roasting in March 2017. His mission to serve good coffee means he roasts the beans himself and takes extra care when brewing it. And good coffee it is: his espresso shots are perfect and latte art extraordinary. Don’t believe me? Try it out yourself!

When in Utrecht tip: The 5th on Utrecht Central Station

Where: Neude 5, 3512 AD Utrecht

Need some coffee to get that motor running? Or meeting up with someone in the heart of Utrecht? Grab a coffee at The 5th. The coffee is good, unlimited and the restaurant is conveniently located on the Neude (which is right in the center of Utrecht).

Maaike (When in Utrecht): Vascobelo

Where: Nachtegaalstraat 52, 3581 AL Utrecht

Another favorite of Maaike: Vascobelo. This coffee place originates from Antwerp and has locations in Belgium and The Netherlands. This V-point is located on the Nachtegaalstraat and upon entering the brasserie you’ll see that it is all about coffee. The large coffee bar has room for a big coffee machine and two grinders.
